All members are industry professionals and collaborate with various local and International artists in their personal capacity. This creates fluidity in sound and performance within the collective, making space for contemporary and innovative production. Urban Strings comprises of fourteen members that include vocals, violinists, viola players, cellists, double bassists, harpists, pianists and guitarists that can be mixed and matched to create a unique musical experience.

Urban Strings presents its latest, first in Africa, one and only on the continent, speciality act – The Urban Harpists. Launched on 1 Oct 2018, this original harp duo exudes visual flair and musical excellence. Both members are Internationally trained and hail from Interlochen Academy for the Creative Arts in Michigan, United States. Fronted by Jude Harpstar, a semi-finalist on SA’s Got Talent (2014) and scholar at Oberlin Conservatory and California Institute of The Arts, the Urban Harpists covers all genres with an extensive repertoire, suitable for all occasions
